FD8011W Introduction to Horticulture for Human Consumption Web Course

This course will provide participants basic knowledge of agricultural production systems related to produce farms.

(a) Goal: At the conclusion of this course, participants will have basic knowledge to describe key aspects of agricultural production systems of produce farms.

(b) Scope: During this course, participants will gain basic knowledge applicable to agricultural production of produce in the areas of growing, harvesting, packing and holding operations.

 

Course TLO:  At the conclusion of this course, participants will have basic knowledge to describe key aspects of agricultural production systems of produce farms.

Course ELO 1: Describe key considerations related to agricultural production systems of produce farms

Course ELO 2: Identify activities involved in the growing processes for produce farms

Course ELO 3: Identify activities involved in produce farm harvesting

Course ELO 4: Identify activities of produce farm packing and holding operations

 

Target Audience:

Federal, state, local, tribal, and territorial regulatory agency food protection professionals who promote and assess compliance with U.S. laws and regulations related to farms that grow, harvest, pack, and hold produce intended for human consumption, and who may initiate regulatory action to gain compliance.

(a) The target audience consists of people in the following positions:

• Investigators/Inspectors/Regulators

(b) The target audience consists of individuals with the following responsibilities:

• Inspecting produce farms

 


Federal, state, local, tribal, and territorial (FSLTT) regulatory agency food protection professionals who promote and assess compliance with U.S. laws and regulations related to farms that grow, harvest, pack, and hold produce intended for human consumption will be required to complete these prerequisite web courses for their official record at FDA’s Office of Training, Education and Development (OTED) learning management system.
